Every Valentine’s day my dear husband Harvey (crazy Gandalf) to his friends, would buy me something which he would present to me over dinner cooked by him. He never lacked imagination and the table was always perfectly set and the food (mostly salad and a soup), was always awesome.
This Valentine’s day, I decided I would reciprocate and buy him something. Big question was, what do I buy? My husband never indulged in wasteful expenditure so, it had to be something he wanted.
I spent several night twisting and turning in my sleep wondering what to buy Harv and then on the third night, I knew. Whenever we went shopping at the mall nearby, I often saw Harv ogling at the impressive display of Tissot watches. He never bought one because although the watches were and looked good, he felt the price tags were not justified.
An office colleague of mine told me to shop online. “shop prices are always inflated” she said. I took her advice and did just that – glad I did too. “Googling” as it is called these days, I saw a simple but truly beautiful looking Tissot T-sport XL Classic watch that was priced at just . Clicking on the photo of that beautiful watch, laded me athttps://www.citywatches.ie
The watch had a retail price tag of but was being offered at . Although simple to look at, the watch was truly impressive. The full model name was Tissot T-Sport XL Classic T116.410.16.037.00 T1164101603700 Quartz Men’s Watch.
I bought the watch right away and waited for 3 days before it was delivered at our home. In close up, the watch was even more impressive.
It had a large pure white dial (over 4cm across) with the brand name “Tissot” stencilled at the top and “1853” just below it. There was a small date window on the right (near the number 3). The minute and hour hands were luminescent and there was an ultra-thin second’s hand that seemed to product a nice “solid” ticking sound.
At 60+, Harv’s eyesight is a tad worse than mine. So, the extra-large watch would, I felt, make it easier for him to read the time. The case of Tissot T-Sport XL Classic was very smooth and appeared to be well machined. It was shiny and I guess, made from stainless-steel.
The Tissot T-Sport XL Classic came with black-brown leather strap attached. Smooth to the touch an beautiful to look at. I love it when manufacturers ensure perfection – but than this was to be expected; it was a Tissot after all.
It was water resistant up to depths of 100 meters. Not that Harv dived or anything, but he loved the Jacuzzi. On Valentine’s day, well, I don’t need to tell you what happened do I? Suffice it is to say that Harv now proudly wears the newTissot T-Sport XL Classic T116.410.16.037.00 T1164101603700 Quartz Watchand yup, he was okay with the price I paid.
