Armani Exchange Chronograph Quartz AX1817 Men’s Watch

I remember about a year ago when I was working as an Engine Officer on a cargo ship and we had offloaded some cargo at Singapore. There was some delay in taking on fresh cargo and so, I took a short break and visited the shopping arcades just outside the harbour area.

While window shopping, I saw this beautiful Orient Watch priced at just SGD 130. Unfortunately, a year down the line it began to slow down. When I took it to their authorized repair centre here in Ireland, I was told that it was a fake.

Anyway, I mentioned all that so you too don’t fall into the same trap I did. A lot of these shops sell apparently high-end watches, ladies’ purses and all kinds of other items. I realised that these non-dedicated shops are most likely to sell you fake watches.

Getting back to the point, and this was just before the COVID-19 pandemic, I was searching for a nice ‘weekend watch’. I short-listed several brands and within them, several models that I felt were quite nice. All this I did online (since it is easiest), and finally, I settled for the Armani Exchange Chronograph Quartz AX1817 Men’s Watch.

I bought the watch for €139 from citywatches.ie This site has several dozen brands and under each brand, they have several dozen models. Almost every watch has a discounted price tag. The site had good reviews and everything checked out. So, I went ahead and bought the Armani Exchange Chronograph Quartz AX1817 Men’s Watch from them. Fortunately for me, it arrived one day before the COVID-19 lockdown was implemented.

The Armani Exchange Chronograph Quartz AX1817 Men’s Watch is beautifully large, has these brilliant luminescent silver hour markers on a pitch-black dial face. There three hands of which, the seconds hand, has a leading red arrow head.

There are three sub-dials. The date window is located within the chrono sub-dial just above the 6’Oclock position. The Unidirectional Rotating Bezel is done in black matt finish and looks awesome. The silver-finished stainless-steel case compliments the overall looks and looks good too. Finally, the black leather strap is nice and thick and provides a solid grip.

The mineral crystal ensures the watch remains scratch-free for a time to come. The crown controls the hands and time setting while the two sub-buttons control the chrono functions. The Armani Exchange Chronograph Quartz AX1817 Men’s Watch is a beautiful watch that can be worn in the office as well as, on weekends.
